I can hardly believe that it is Mother's Day! I enjoyed a great weekend with all of the kids. We had a great time on Saturday at the house. We ate a great "home cooked" meal and just enjoyed being together. We played freeze out with the 8 months pregnant girls! Everyone was putting on jackets and blankets as they were saying that they were sweating! Not long now until the little ones will be here. Life certainly will take a different turn when they arrive.
The "little kids" are finishing up school and making a lot of plans for the summer. Abbey will head to El Salvador for her first missions trip in July. My baby sister will be getting married in August so we will have a trip planned for then. It will be a fun time I am sure. I can not believe that she is getting married. It just seems like yesterday when she was born. I am not sure how I feel about this growing old thing. Well I guess I have no choice but to roll with it!

Well there you have it....almost 2 months since I have blogged. I guess I would rather do updates through facebook....anyway, here I am....

As far as recent news....Abbey got her driver's license and is loving it. Of course, we are going to be grandparents in June and we found out that Ashly and Noah will be having a boy (Abram Dean) and Lucas and Lori will be having a girl (Layla Kate). We are over the moon to say the least about all of this and I think it will be a long wait until June. Both pregnancies are progressing well. Easy for me to say I know.

Grant is staying busy with drums, school, etc....and patiently waiting for the weather to warm up so that he can skateboard. It has been a very cold winter.

Church life has been great as well. Services have been great and growing. We love our church family.

Ron and I (as well as a dozen or so of CLCers) are in training for the Country Music Half Marathon that will occur in April. Ron is doing a great job and hanging in there. I will keep you posted. It has been fun running together and training for it together.

Well I promise to write more later. Gotta swap out the laundry!

Catching up

I know, I know. It has been too long since I have updated this thing. I am a loser. Well, a lot has been going on since I last updated. We had a nice visit from Ron's family over thanksgiving. The house was full of people-20 to be exact! Lots of food and lots of fun!

Grant, Abbey and I had an awesome time at Toby Mac's Winter Wonderslam Concert!
I came away deaf but it was a fun time! I think I am getting old!

We then enjoyed a quick trip from my mom and dad from Texas. We had some fun days with shopping and hanging out with one another. It had been a while since my dad had been here so it was fun to catch up with both of them. Of course, spoiling the grandkids too. That's what a Nana and Poppy are for!

The day after Nana and Poppy left we had our first snow of the year! Only a few inches but it got the kids a snow day no less! Grant got braces as well!

Lucas (our oldest son) graduated from MTSU this past Saturday. We were so proud. I can hardly believe that he can be that grown!

Well, it happened. Abigail Grace Kairdolf turned 16! Amazing. Time sure does fly! Abbey had a great birthday week-Started it out with a great dinner at Olive Garden with all of us there. She got want she wanted (for about 4 years) a Cell Phone. We will have to send her to rehab for her text messaging addiction but I suppose she has to make up for lost time. Can you say "Unlimited texting"!!!! She then had a great party with about 25 friends from school and church. We rented an inflatable slide and the whole group wore it out for 4 hours. They all had a great time. Anyway, here are a few pics to enjoy!

13.1 Mission Accomplished

For those of you who don't know, we had a group at church decide to train for Murfreesboro's Middle Half Marathon. It was this Saturday and it was quite a challenge. It was hard! The entire group finished! All under 3 hours. I managed to finish in 2 hours and 24 minutes. Not too shabby! I am feeling it today though. If I move around I am ok but sitting still is a killer! It was so rewarding to be a part of a team/family that was so enthusiastic to cheer on others. I am ready (not this week or anything) to try it again. Doing something like this really teaches you a lot about yourself. Enjoy some pictures!

Life just does not slow down.....
This weekend we had a wonderful celebration with the wedding of two of our worship team members. Emily Hatton and Jesse Hanks tied the knot on Saturday night. She was beautiful. Ron officiated and it was GREAT! These two were made for each other! Congrats you two!

So today found me busy with packing Ron for his 10 day Nepal trip! He and Pastor Jim took off and we are excited about their trip! We are praying for you both! I then headed to Nashville to visit my friend from work. Leslie had a baby about 4 weeks ago and I had not seen Baby Parker since birth. He is so cute and handsome. We chowed on some Quesidilla Explosion salad from TOGOS (inside joke--thanks for the laugh Ron!) and enjoyed cooing over this little man. His big sister Hailey is adjusting so well. I have missed being able to see my friend. We really enjoyed our time together!

Keeping Busy

Wow! Things have been crazy around here! I have been busy, busy! We had a great trip with our ladies group a few weeks ago. We took 12 women white water rafting and had a blast. What an experience! We were all ready to go again!

once home we hit life in the fast lane with our newest additions to CLC. We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Miss Emery Sasse (new daughter to our youth pastor, Jon and his wife, Lisa) . Emery made her debut on Sept 23rd at 8:52 pm-on my shift at work. I was so blessed to be able to receive her out of the doctors hands and take care of her. She was 8 pounds and 21 inches and beautiful.. Mom and Emery are great! We also welcomed, on that same day, Caleb Carroll! What a cute little man he is! Congrats, Austin and Amanda! What a privledge it is to be able to care for people at such an exciting time!

I just got back from Nashville where I was visiting a very sweet little boy just born on Friday morning. Parker Daniel Maupin is the new little son to my very good friend, Leslie. So many of you know that I have been training for a 1/2 marathon that I will be running in October. What a test of perseverance. I completed 12 miles this a.m. and can I just say---dang that is hard! The human body is amazing with what it can do. Can you believe that you can run for 2 hours and your body cooperates. It is your will that you have to beat into submission. That is the hardest thing. This whole training for the race is teaching me a lot about myself. I CAN do just about anything I set my mind to but it requires WORK! Work is good. It feels good. The results of hard work are good. Despite what my flesh may tell me when I am working at my goal, I know that ultimately I have to be steadfast!

I can hardly believe that Grant, also known as G, is 12 years old today. Just doesnt seem possible. So cliche to say time flies but it really does. We had a fun party last night with G and the rest of the fam. His Dad built him a half pipe, got some clothes, books, cds and moola. Just want to celebrate his special day--which included Mom bringing sonic to school for lunch for him. Glad he isnt too big to have mom eat with him. Happy Birthday Gman!

Summer winding down

Well, sad to say that summer is winding down. Kids are back in school and vacations are over. I am glad to be getting into some kind of routine. Since I last blogged we have been very busy with a mini-vaca to Baton Rouge (will have some pics posted later of that), kids starting school (Grant 6th grade and Abbey -sophomore), baby showers and visits from family. I am still training for the Murfreesboro Half Marathon and have made it up to 10 miles in my training! Hard to believe I know! My little brother just left today. He was here for a week visiting us. He is starting his senior year at Texas Tech (majoring in Petroleum Engineering!) We had a good time showing him around Nashville and the Boro! Just wanted to update you with some pics and news!

Just a quick check in with all of you. Abbey got back from church camp and then left the next day for another camp with her friend Abbey. Grant and Ron made a trip to the Indy 200 on Saturday and it was quite an eye opening experience. They had some good Father/Son time. Ron also took Noah and Grant to the Smyrna YMCA Skatepark yesterday (I was joking with Ron and asked him was he going for the Father of the Year award!) They had a good time and finally worked up enough courage to go down some bigger ramps. Not much else to report here. Hope this finds you all doing well! Later!

Well, yet another 4th of July is upon us. We had some fun last night with fireworks as you can see sparklers bring out the best in the kids. We did our fireworks last night due to me having to work tonight. Happy Anniversary to Monica and David , as well to Drew and Christy!

Ran a 5 K on Saturday. This was a fund raiser for the local ministry called the Greenhouse. The Greenhouse is a great outreach ministry to the community. They minister and equip people to make positive changes in their lives and give them the tools to ensure that it can become a reality for them. Great people doing a great work! Thanks for putting on this event-Cliff and Jane! You all did a great job!

Ellen Ryan and I ran the race (uh.... she ran better than I did as I have not been as diligent in my training as she has been). We had a great time and the kids went and helped volunteer. I don't think that they
realized that getting up at 5:30 a.m. on a Saturday was part of the deal! They were troopers and they both want to run in the next 5K!

Here are a few more pictures of our beach adventures. That's Abbey with baby Sadie (distant cousin).

I had a great visit with Dionne and baby Joy today. We lunched on some Famous Dave's and went ga ga over Joy. She is beautiful.

As you can see below, Ron is teaching Grant the inns and outs of how to play chess. Such a sweet thing for a Mom to see this. I love it when they do things like this together.

So far this summer.....

Just wanted to give you a run down of our events from this summer...Me and the kids headed down to Crystal Beach, Texas to meet their Nana Elaine for a week of surf and sand ala Texas beach style (Texas beaches, not so pretty) . We had a great time and caught up with some cousins that were hilarious to say the least. We also stopped through Baton Rouge on our way there and back and were treated with some great Crawfish!!Yum! Thanks so much to the Nichols clan for their hospitality! This picture is of Grant and Abbey and their Nana on the ferry to Galveston Island.

Upon our return, it was back to work and getting ready for the various events with church. Our ladies ministry hosted our annual ladies tea in June and it was a great success. We had over 90 ladies in attendance and it was a lot of fun as usual. The ladies ministry team leaders (shout out to Darla, Laura, Angie and Kristen) did an excellent job. Yours truly was the guest speaker and it was truly a nerve wracking experience. I got through it and didn't faint.

Back at the hospital, we coworkers were anxiously awaiting the arrival of Dionne's baby, Joy.
She made her appearance into this world on Thursday, June 19th at 1:10 a.m. with both of her surrogate aunts, me and Leslie, at her birth. Dionne was such a pro and did great. As you can see she is just about the cutest baby ever. Mom and baby are doing great. Leslie will have her turn to welcome baby number #2--No Name Baby Maupin will be here in September. Looking forward to that as well! Here is Joy, Joy and Leslie and Joy and Me!

This past weekend, our worship team hosted a Worship Conference for our community and we had Klaus and Pure Worship come and hold a night of worship and a conference all day on Saturday. It was an awesome experience. I was so proud of the worship team and how they all rallied and came together to pull this thing off. I think that they all received an awesome blessing from this weekend. Worship was amazing!

Well I think that is the best update I can give for now. Summer should be slowing down and maybe, hopefully, we will have some relaxing time. Oh I almost forgot---Abbey got her learner's permit!!!! HELP!!
